Our Story
The Global Commodities Group (GCG), founded in 2024, is a pioneering student organization founded at New York University, with chapters at LSE and Oxford, focused on macroeconomic research with a particular emphasis on commodities. As the only entity of its kind at NYU, GCG integrates academic insights with real-world market dynamics, through the publication of investment theses, research papers, and quantitative analyses. In addition to its research initiatives, GCG actively manages a $100,000 paper portfolio, allowing members to apply their insights in a simulated market environment and develop hands-on investment skills.
